Privacy Policy
简体中文版 →This Privacy Policy explains how Originals Fetcher handles photo-library access on your device, and why this App does not collect any personal information from you. Please read this Policy carefully before using the App.
1. Our Core Promise
The App does not collect, upload, analyze, or store any of your personal information or media content copies.
Specifically:
- No uploads of any photo, video, thumbnail, or metadata to our servers or any third-party server.
- No content analysis of your photos or videos (no face / location / object / text recognition).
- No extra copies stored — the App triggers iOS's built-in iCloud originals download via PhotoKit. The downloaded originals are stored by iOS directly in your Photos library; the App does not touch the original binary data.
- No collection of device identifiers (IDFA / IDFV), location, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, or any other system resources.
- No cookies, no local analytics SDKs, no third-party tracking SDKs, and no event-level usage telemetry of any kind.
2. Device Permissions Requested
To perform its core function, the App requests exactly one permission:
Photo Library Access (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription)
- When requested: the first time you enter the scan or prefetch flow
- Level requested: Full Access
- Purpose:
- Read each item's
PHAsset.localIdentifierand local-availability status (whether the original still lives in iCloud) to count items that need prefetching - Call
PHAssetResourceManager.requestData(...)to request the original data stream solely to trigger iOS's download. The data stream received by the App is discarded immediately after the system writes the original to your Photos library; nothing is stored within the App's sandbox.
- Read each item's
- The App will never:
- Upload any photo or video to any server
- Read, analyze, or recognize photo content
- Persist any copy (not even thumbnails) inside the App's sandbox
- Modify or delete any of your photos
You may revoke this permission at any time via Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Originals Fetcher. Scan and prefetch will stop working, but originals already downloaded will remain in your Photos library as normal.
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
To support resuming interrupted tasks, the App stores only the following task-state data inside your iPhone's local sandbox:
| Data Category | Content | Storage Location | Leaves Device? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Task records | Each pending PHAsset.localIdentifier, current status, progress, error count | App sandbox (local file) | No |
| User preferences | Wi-Fi-only, low-power pause, keep-screen-awake toggles | iOS UserDefaults | No |
| Purchase receipts | StoreKit transactions issued by Apple | iOS Keychain / managed by StoreKit | No |
All of the above is read and written only by the App while running locally. None of it is uploaded over the network. None of it is shared with any third party. Uninstalling the App deletes everything above.
4. Network Activity
The App relies on the following network activities, all performed by iOS itself or Apple official services. The App does not initiate any network request to our servers or any third-party server:
- iCloud originals download — performed by iOS over Apple's iCloud service, fetching your own photos from your own iCloud account to your device. We cannot see this traffic.
- App Store IAP verification — performed by the iOS StoreKit framework directly against Apple App Store. We do not see your payment details.
- Network status detection — the App uses iOS
Network.frameworkpurely to detect local Wi-Fi vs. cellular state for auto-pause logic. No outbound request is made.
5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates no third-party SDKs, including but not limited to:
- Analytics (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.) — none
- Advertising (AdMob, Pangle, etc.) — none
- Push notification providers — none
- Crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.) — none
- Social SDKs (Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, etc.) — none
Should a future version integrate any third-party service, we will update this Policy and notify you in-App in advance.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages and does not separately collect any information from children under 13. Because the App collects no personal information at all, there is no practical risk to children's privacy.
7. Your Rights
Because the App holds none of your personal information, the rights to "access, correct, delete, port, withdraw consent, or close account" that you may enjoy under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws have no actionable target. If you wish to immediately clear all task records the App has stored on your device:
- Option 1 — In-App: Settings → Clear All Task Records (if exposed in your version)
- Option 2 — Uninstall the App from your iPhone; iOS will delete all sandbox data automatically
8. In-App Purchases & Refunds
The App offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited prefetch.
- The payment flow is handled entirely by Apple App Store. The App never touches your payment method, card number, or Apple ID.
- Refunds: please request through Apple — https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- The purchase is one-time only with no recurring subscription.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we materially change this Policy (e.g., introduce data collection or a third-party service), we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date above
- Notify you prominently inside the App
- Where required, request your renewed consent
If you do not agree with an updated Policy, you may uninstall the App.
10. Contact

We will respond within 15 business days of receipt.
